The process of a bill becomes a law in the U.S..

citizen can discuss any idea with representative then ask them to write a bill for them
only representatives can introduce a bill, if the representative agrees, will write them into
bills
On the representative side:
one representative (in us total 435 members, each term for 2 years)
needs a sponsor, another supporter besides the writer
put in a box, called hopper
after a reading clerk reads the bill to all representatives
the speaker of house will send the bill to rules committee(most bills die here)
if any change made, it will be send back to the house floor
if the committee needs more information to decide before sending to the house floor,
it will be sent to a subcommittee
once the committees have approved a bill, it will be reported to the house floor for
representatives to debate
once the debate has done and  any possible change has been made
the bill is ready to be vote on three ways:
a. voice vote(call name answer yah or no),
b. division(count the stand up supporters and those who hold oppose),
c. recorded(by using voting system)
after majority of members say yes, the bill will be referred to the senator
On the senator side:
a senator will introduce the bill and send to a committee, once the committees have approved,
it will be send to the whole senator for voting. If majority of the senators vote yes,
means it passed the senator and ready to the president.
On the president:
President has three ways to respond:
1. sign the bill, make it a new law, and effective on the first day of next year.
2. veto, or refuse to sign the bill. the bill will be sent back to the house of representative with
stated reason. If the congress of both houses want to overwrite the bill, they have to have
meet rule of two-thirds of the congresses of both houses support this bill. Then it can become a law.
3. No respond(pocket veto) - If the congress still in session, the bill will automatically
becomes a law after 10 days.
